The netbooks are both Lenovo S10E. However, as with any complicated feature of Windows, things can go wrong! so to speak. Homegroups tends to be a little spotty through wireless connections but it can usually be made to work.

It mustbe set to Home for the computer to participate in a Homegroup. It seems I am locked within a Homegroup I am not part of. Especially the list of services proved to be very useful. I created a workgroup on the win7laptop and typed in password on the win7 destop.
