Put simply, the error is hardware related but like all things digital, you don't really get to fix this one without your share of head-banging. I work at repair service for smartphone…. Apparently it installed IOS 10.0.1. Tried downloading IOS 10 IPSW & shift+restore doesn't help either. The technicians I gave it to have not been able to fix it. After all this rigamarole it does have iOS 10 and my apps are being installed.
Worked well, no restoration needed. I didn't bring my USB cord with me so I had to wait until I got home. For those complaining and cursing… don't rush to be the first to upgrade, and then complain as if you have been dealt an injustice.
