It seem the 'anomaly' started in 2006 and it would be interesting to know why. After I install the driver (NI-488.2, NI-DAQmx, etc.), I reboot the PC, and after it powers up, I plug in my USB device in the USB port. To fix this you will have to extract the usb.inf file from the .cab files on the Windows CD. Particularly on servers I know a few of us rename the admin account and create a new account called administrator with no rights. It should run that downloaded file and set some of the permission correctly. If you are logged in as Standard user, the installation will give you this error. The system returned: (22) Invalid argument The remote host or network may be down. any other ideas?
