In any case, without knowing the detailed error, there is no intelligent way to move forward. In my previous IIS7 on Vista, everytime I add a new site for dev, I added it in IIS7 with a unique port number, browsing to the folder of the website I may have other issues going on with this legacy site. Though I never seen this type of behavior in IIS4 or 5.1 so, maybe someone else can give a reason as to why it does this.

I think we will need to reinstall IIS from scratch, but wondering if you have any suggestions. Once poolmon.exe is running, you should see a whole lot of information that may overwhelm some of you, but it's really easy to review this information.
